The Theophrastus line and Many and One: the authorship tests still owed
These are mostly unbuilt tests from the authorship investigation: a validation suite on known-status pairs, an independent form-track to check whether the chronology effect tracks repertoire, the doublet titles as function-split editions, pre-Andronican evidence for the Aristotle/Theophrastus name-boundary, the Engels-edited Capital volumes as calibration, the Platonic corpus on the world/instrument axis, and a full splice of Λ. The First Draft notebook states that the instrument deserving the word authorship has not been built and gives the specification it must meet. A few historical theses supply the hypotheses under test, including the reputational mechanism manufacturing Hicetas and Ecphantus.

→ The precondition this exposes is upstream of everything. The instrument
set is unvalidated. No measure built in this investigation was scored on
known-status pairs before being applied to the question. **You cannot detect an
object that defeats measurement until your measures are characterised on
objects that do not.** A validation suite — every instrument against a panel of
known pairs, with per-method accuracy and pairwise agreement recorded — is a
prerequisite for any adversarial test.

On the relocation that objection stops being an objection. If development is generic rather than biographical, a repertoire is exactly what is predicted: the order is a track through forms, available in any sequence of composition, and the stylometric stratification is detecting the track, not the years.
**M13's Z = +6.92 — the strongest partition effect in the entire investigation —
becomes evidence for the relocation rather than a contaminated chronology.**

The horizon, stated as a design problem. Three requirements, none met by any procedure in the protocol as it stands. (i) Mode-invariance: features whose distribution is stable under a deliberate change of register — which function words are not, since a change of register is precisely a change in their rates. (ii) Development-tolerance: a model of an author as a trajectory rather than a point, so that a corpus's early and late poles are the same object rather than two. (iii) Discrimination against mediation: the case Lee names last and which is new in kind — an authorial signature that survives passage through a machine that composes the surface.

Where (i) and (ii) intersect, the circularity is demonstrated for that argument. Where they do not, the chronology is doing legitimate work and the objection fails for that case.
