# X-017 · Three repairs to ORS-Core

**A · Class is not one field; it is four orthogonal facets.** ORS-Core field 3 offers a flat list — *state, higher-order, recovery, possibility-space, measurement, composite* — whose members answer different questions. *State*, *higher-order*, and *possibility-space* name a **codomain type** (X, Op, G). *Measurement* names a **role**. *Composite* names **compositional status**. *Recovery* names a **relation to another operator**. A flat list of answers to four questions will collide the moment an operator has two properties at once, and one already does.

Proposed facets, each independently declared:

**The fourth member of the possibility-space family.** X-016 names Horn, Poetry, and possibly Socrates. The apophatic packet is a fourth: B ≠ B operates on the resolver's admissibility grammar, making a sense-split admissible where a single flattened node was the only admitted reading. But it is *also* repair-mediated (X-004) — its effect is produced by the receiver's normalization, not by its assertion. Under the flat list it must be filed as one or the other. Under facets it files correctly and completely: **codomain grammar, mechanism repair-mediated, role transformation, compositional status primitive-at-instrument.** Mechanism and codomain are orthogonal axes, and the taxonomy needs both.

**B · Typed statuses need an enumerated vocabulary.** MANUS's framing — a registry with typed statuses rather than a canon — only works if the statuses are a closed, declared set. From X-016 and the session's prior work:

`candidate` (transformation claimed, untested) · `near-registrable` (types declared, test instrument missing) · `type-registered / instance-unregistered` (the class is sound; this historical candidate has not been shown to satisfy it) · `registered` (all core fields supplied, ablation executed) · `macro / unfactored` (registered but known to contain separable components) · `kernel-extracted` (registration applies to a kernel extracted from a document, per S-08, with the remainder recorded) · `constitutional` (preserved as ontological proposition; not a registration claim) · `null-archived` (registration attempted and failed; retained findable and dated, with the failure recorded as a result about the instrument as well as the object).

The last is load-bearing at census scale. A registry of several hundred candidates will null-archive most of them, and a registry that deletes what it cannot certify is a purge with a schema.

**C · Field 14 must require an executed ablation, not a stated one.** *Factorization/minimality: known components and instrument-relative stopping point* is a description. The registration standard's whole force depends on it being a **result**: the effect must be shown to vanish when the artifact is removed and the context held. Amend field 14 to require either an executed and reported ablation or an explicit `not-yet-ablated` status — which then bars `registered` and caps the entry at `candidate`. A registered operator carries its own null result, or the schema certifies whatever it is handed.
