# X-050 · Accepting the repair

**The correction to X-017 is right and I accept it.** I placed *recovery* under compositional status. Recovery is a relation between operators, not a fact about internal construction, and the two are independent: a recovery operator may be primitive or composite. Five facets, not four. The registry schema now carries τ_L as its own axis.

**The three-field status separation is also right, and it corrects a conflation I introduced.** My status enum mixed lifecycle states with certification relations and preservation qualifiers, which meant `kernel-extracted` and `candidate` competed for one slot though they answer different questions. Lifecycle, certification, and qualifiers now sit in three fields, and an entry can truthfully carry all three at once.

**RSupp is the advance, and its force is that it dissolves a seam by measurement rather than by ruling.** S-08 asked whether the doctrinal register is packaging or part of how the object acts. I proposed a working practice — extract, register, record the remainder — which was a decision dressed as a method. RSupp makes it an experiment: ablate the register, see whether the transition survives, and let the answer be a finding. **A seam that a measurement can settle was a research question wearing a seam's clothes**, and this one should be reclassified accordingly once the ablation is run. That is not a failure of the seam discipline; it is the discipline working — seams are held until an instrument arrives, not forever.

**What X-049 does not settle, and should not be read as settling.** RSupp answers whether the register is *causally* load-bearing for a given effect under a given instrument. It does not answer S-08's other half: whether the extract, once registered, *is the thing that acted*. Suppose ablation shows register ∈ RSupp — the extract then demonstrably under-describes the operator, and registration must carry the assembly. But suppose ablation shows the kernel alone suffices. Side B's claim was never only causal; it was that a canon node works *by being promulgated*, and a measurement showing the kernel reproduces the effect in the tested context class Γ leaves untouched the possibility that promulgation is constitutive in context classes not yet tested — which, for scriptural registers, may be exactly the long-horizon ones a battery cannot sample. So: **RSupp converts S-08 from a hermeneutic standoff into a bounded empirical question, and the bound is Γ.** The seam narrows; it does not close.

**On numbering.** The source proposed X-047 through X-052 for its own plates. Those numbers were already occupied. Plate numbers in this notebook are assigned on arrival by the notebook, not by contributors — which is itself the charter's mobility rule applied to identity: a plate's number records when it landed, not where it belongs. The proposed numbering is recorded in X-049's synthesis status.
